5 Juli-- Day 11

Another fairly straightforward day. After our first class, (some lovely discussions about irregular verbs and German sentence structure), had lunch at the local farmer's market. Got a sandwich and a box of raspberries(!) Then we had another class, discussing Lei Riefenstahl's Olympia. Beautiful stuff (if a little boring at times).

After class, I took the S-Bahn to Rathaus Stieglitz (Rathaus = town hall). I was actually planning on riding it back home, but then on a whim decided to do some walking. Got off, got a little lost, found the electronics superstore that I was supposed to find last week. After buying another travel adapter (the first only fit my phone charger...) I made my way back home. Quite a few nice stores there, but not as high-end as the KaDeWe... where someone found a €33,000 per liter bottle of scotch. It was from like the 1800's or something haha.

Made my way back home, did some work, and went for a run(!) to Schlactensee, the lake (not a sea) that my neighborhood/district gets it's name from. I was a little wary of going there, to be honest, cause apparently people like to do their,uh, nakey-bathing there. We had already passed a bunch of naked old guys laying out on the grass of the Tiergarten during our bike tour... a repeat was not high on my priority list. Luckily I saw nothing out of the ordinary, and me (and my eyes) made it back home safe and sound. I passed the rest of the day doing work. Not fun, but nothing to do about that.

A picture from yesterday, but I couldn't pass up the chance to show you guys some crazy wood figurines.
